No, Texas is not all flat and barren, just come out our way for proof where you will find some of the prettiest country in the state, and our little mountains and beautiful canyons and wildflower meadows.
Kerrville, located on the banks of the Guadalupe River, is a metropolis of only 24,000 people. In the summer time, it's busy because the area around Kerrville is what you might call "camp central". There are lots of summer camps which are tucked in this Texas Hill Country area which also offers some of the prettiest state parks. A lot of folks come for the weekends to camp or hike or fish.
Our area answers the cry for those of us who want some peace and quiet and open road; and pulling off into small Hill Country towns and eating at places only the locals know about.
Ladies, the area is not just about the natural beauty of the Hill Country; there are so many unique shops and antique selections here about that you will have to return back here to see them all (lol). All kinds of cute shops and stuff located in little towns along the way that still hang onto the old way of doing things.
Kerrville is centrally located to numerous rivers, including the premier Guadalupe River. Texas boast about 80,000 miles of running water. The most scenic and popular recreational rivers are in Central Texas, where pure, spring-fed ancient water roll over limestone stream beds through our beautiful Texas hills. Hill Country rivers are rated among the best in Texas which are reflected in accessibility, appeal and tourism. Other local rivers in the area are the Colorado River, the largest river in length and drainage in Texas. The Llano River, spring-fed beauty near Junction and the Frio River, short but sweet, in the Leakey area. The Guadalupe's flow ranges from gentle currents on most stretches to ranging rapids under high-water conditions. While enjoying our area Rivers, it's important to note that most land on the river is privately owned. This means folks cannot legally get out of the water and onto the banks, unless the flow is through state or federal property.
We invite you to share our shaded 400' of the Guadalupe River on our private frontage, including the use of our kayaks and canoes with our other guest, life-jackets are not included with usage. We can provide our guest with river front camping sites with electrical outlets as well for $40 per tent per night for 4 occupants, over 4 is additional $20 per occupant.
